The Black Keys are an American blues-rock music duo consisting of vocalist/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer/producer Patrick Carney. The band was formed in 2001 and immediately became active in the underground rock scene of Akron, Ohio. They have since sold nearly two million records worldwide. In much the same vein as the White Stripes, the two-person band produces massive sound and thumping beats to go along with distinctive lyrics. The duo is currently embarked on a global tour, and if you'd like to see one of the most popular, and hardest rocking bands of the last 10 years, don't forget to purchase The Black Keys Tickets today!
The Black Keys debut album, The Big Come Up, was released in early 2002, and it was very successful considering they were a new independent rock band. Though they've yet to achieve mainstream music stardom, The Black Keys songs can be heard in all forms of media. "I'll Be Your Man" is the theme song for the HBO series Hung, and "When the Lights Go Out," was featured in the 2007 film Black Snake Moan. They were also included on the School of Rock soundtrack, and their song "Girl Is on My Mind," was used in a 2006 Sony Ericsson advertisement.
The band is frequently compared to The White Stripes, with the stylings and energy reminding some of The Jimi Hendrix Experience. They are clearly influenced by early 1900s blues artist, such as Junior Kimbrough, Muddy Waters and Elmore James. The Black Keys are currently touring to support their latest album El Camino. Make sure to purchase your Black Keys Tickets if you want to see blues rock at its grittiness.
