Indianapolis Super Bowl 46 Tickets
Now that the NFL lockout has been resolved, all eyes now turn to the 2011-12 NFL Season, and, subsequently, Super Bowl 46. The city of Indianapolis and Lucas Oil Stadium are set to play host to the NFL and the 2012 Super Bowl. Indianapolis is currently in the process of transforming the downtown area in preparation of hosting Super Bowl XLVI. Renovations are being made to make the entire downtown area reachable by indoor tunnels throughout the city, and decorations and other atmospheric improvements are also being made. For instance, the outside walkways will be partially covered, with street heaters being used to keep fans accustomed to warm-weather Super Bowls comfortable. New hotels and parking are also being added in preparation for the mass of people that will converge on the downtown streets and surrounding areas. Residents who live in Indy won't even be able to recognize downtown Indianapolis after all the renovations and additions are completed.

Lucas Oil Stadium
Indianapolis has become renowned for hosting major events such as the Final Four, Indianapolis 500, Big Ten Championship, and many, many others. However, none will compare in magnitude to Super Bowl 46. Even the size of Lucas Oil Stadium will be expanded to accommodate what will be a record crowd. The area that is currently known as the Bud Light Zone will have an additional riser above it, adding upwards of 7,000 seats. In addition, the Indianapolis area has also expanded, with a large new hotel being build next to Victory Field, and also some other local buildings being added to accommodate the 2012 Super Bowl.
After the debacle that was the 2011 Super Bowl in Dallas, Indianapolis hopes to learn from some of the well publicized issues that arose at Arlington's Dallas Cowboys Stadium. Many fans were forced to wait in long lines when scanners failed at the gates, and then also when approximately 400 fans were ousted from their seats due the stadiums seating not being totally prepared. Dallas was also caught by surprise when a huge ice storm swept across the Midwest and left the usually snowless town covered in not only snow but a layer of ice. Indianapolis is far more accustomed to the trials and tribulations of Mother Nature's Winter seasons, and should be ready and prepared for just about anything thrown its way. As far as the stadium goes, the cold February weather all but guarantees that Lucas Oil Stadium's retractable roof will be shut for the game. Currently the Colts have control of whether or not the roof stays open, but for the Super Bowl the NFL with make the call.
