Making their first semifinal since 2000-01, they swept the St. Louis Blues to advance to Conference Finals and then dispatched the Phoenix Coyotes in five games, advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals for the second time in franchise history. They became the second team to eliminate the top three seeds en-route to the Stanley Cup Finals.
The Kings continued to ride their wave of success into the finals as they took out the New Jersey Devils in six games to win the Stanley Cup. The Kings fans expectations are riding high as the team has kept most of the core players by signing them to extensions this past offseason. The Kings have finally made on mark on Los Angeles, which is mostly known as a Lakers town as it has transformed into a Kings town.
