Megadeth is led by guitarist Dave Mustaine who was also one of the original members of Metallica. Mustaine is best known for his guitar wizardry and incredibly fast style of play. Megadeth will be on tour in 2011 with Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax. The band is not new to the metal scene having been in existence since 1983 shortly after Mustaine left Metallica. Since that time they have released 12 studio albums and are now considered to be one of the Big 4 metal bands of their time. The other 3 are the bands that they are touring with in 2011. In 2002 Megadeth went on hiatus after guitarist and band leader Dave Mustaine suffered severe nerve injury to his left arm. After years of extensive therapy Mustaine has regained full use of the arm and is back to full speed. Throughout the history of the band there have been a total of 20 different members in the band, but without Mustaine Megadeth could not continue.

2011 Rockstar Mayhem Festival
The Rockstar Mayhem Festival is a heavy metal touring festival founded by Kevin Lyman, the creator of the Vans Warped Tour. Beginning in early July and lasting through the end of August, the festival has become very popular among fans of heavy metal music. Last year's show was co-headlined by Korn and Rob Zombie, and past years have included Marilyn Manson, Slayer, and Slipknot.
The 2011 festival will kick off July 9th at San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernadino, California, and will conclude August 14 at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida. Headlining the show will be some of heavy metals best with Godsmack, Megadeth, and Disturbed all slated to perform.
