Hard rock’s KISS can be spotted from miles away, with their legendary face-paint and studded black leather ensembles making them impossible to miss. While in costume, the band members take on the personae of comic book heroes; Demon (Gene Simmons), Starchild (Paul Stanley), Spaceman (Ace Frehley/Tommy Thayer), and Catman (Peter Criss/Eric Singer). Despite their flamboyant appearance, the band’s stage performance is true to rock and roll including pyrotechnics, fire-breathing, and instruments that magically rise out of clouds of smoke.
