Kings of Leon Concert Tickets: Rocks Newest Royals Head Out on Tour

The new royalty of rock, Kings of Leon are heading out on the road this summer. As mere teenagers, the Nashville-based Followill brothers Anthony Caleb (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Ivan Nathan (drums), and Michael Jared (bass) and cousin Cameron Matthew Followill (lead guitar) stormed onto the music scene with their 2003 debut Holy Roller Novocaine EP. Since then, Kings of Leon have been pumping out southern rock and blues influenced music with an indie edge with albums like 2003’s Youth & Young Manhood, 2005’sAha Shake Heartbreak, 2007’s Because of the Times, and 2008’s Only by the Night.

Each of the band’s albums has garnered critical praise with NME calling Youth &Young Manhood “one of the best debut albums of the last 10 years.” The critical praise paid off, and Kings of Leon set out to tour with heavy hitters, U2 and The Strokes. Aha Shake Heartbreak was no stranger to success – it included Taper Jean Girl which was used in the films Disturbia and  Cloverfield. Once again, in 2005 and 2006, the band scored big and toured with Bob Dylan and Pearl Jam.

Kings of Leon’s third album, Because of the Times and forth album Only by the Night both were received well by the critics, and have sent the young band into the mainstream conscious. Q Magazine named Only by the Night 2008’s “Album of the Year” with the singles Sex on Fire and Use Somebody becoming two of the band’s most successful. Helping with that was their work with Volkswagen in lending their song Molly’s Chambers to a commercial.

The Southern-rock quartet continued to plow away at success by headlining several festivals in 2009. With their successful release of their first DVD in 2009, the band continues to hold its place in the critically acclaimed rock arena.  Further solidfing that place are the three Grammy’s the boys took home in 2010 for Record of the Year, Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Rock Song. There are rumors that the band will start recording in March, but a summer tour is confirmed.
