While B.o.B is relatively new on the scene, he's already had a number of successful hits, and was identified by Vibe Magazine as the one of hip-hop's rising stars. His debut album, B.o.B. Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, was released in April of 2010, and debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 84,000 copies in its first week. On the album, he collaborates with such well known artists as Lupe Fiasco, T.I., Playboy Tre, Hayley Williams, Rivers Cuomo, Rico Barrino, Janelle Monáe, Bruno Mars, Rich Boy, and Eminem. The first single released, "Nothing on You," reached number one in both the U.S. and U.K., and Simmons' second single, "Airplanes" also reached number one on the U.S. Charts. The third single released off of B.o.B's first record, "Magic" recently became his third consecutive top 10 hit, and earned Simmons a featured spot in an Adidas commercial.
B.o.B derives his musical influences from 80's music, rap, techno, rock, funk, and even doo-wop, which can all be heard in both his own songs, and those which he has produced. In the past two years, B.o.B has received numerous nominations for his work, including the BET Awards, Teen Choice Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards.
