Bob Dylan is an American musician and singer-songwriter who has been one of the most influential artists since the 1960s. He became a reluctant figurehead of the counter culture society that emerged early in his career, and songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" and "The Times They Are a-Changin'" became anthems for the civil rights and anti-war movements. His early lyrics mainly focused on politics, social issues, and philosophical attitudes, as well as incorporating many literary references.
Dylan's early inspirations included Woody Guthrie, Robert Johnson, Hank Williams, and Little Richard. Over the course of his career, Dylan has explored numerous distinct traditions in American song—from folk, blues and country to gospel, rock and roll, and rockabilly, he's even ventured into English, Scottish, and Irish folk music, as well as jazz and swing. He has been the recipient of many awards, including the highly coveted Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy Awards.
Dylan recently announced a Fall tour, starting in Florida and traveling through most of the United States. He'll be playing all the classic hits, as well as some new songs and excellent covers.
