Singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift, is at it again! The all-American sweetheart is releasing her fourth studio album, Red, scheduled for October 22, 2012. The lead producer of Red is Nathan Chapman, along with a variety of other producers. Nathan Chapman is most known for having worked with Swift on two of her previous beloved albums, Fearless and Speak Now. Unlike previous album, such as Speak Now, in which Swift wrote every song on her own, Red is said to have many co-writers from all different places in music, including Butch Walker and Mark Foster, offering the album a bit of a twist.

Swift successfully amped up her loyal fans for the new album by releasing Red’s lead single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” in August. Swift collaborated with Swedish super-producer Max Martin, who co-wrote and produced “Never” to take her music in a different and remarkable direction. This new side of Swift has been a predominantly welcome one, with the song described as a retrospective, reflective, pop wonder. While fans enjoy the joyous, smart, and catchy tune, some critics find the song to be a bit soulless compared to her others and even a bit more juvenile, although it is undeniably enjoyable.
The single rapidly rose to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming Swift’s first song to make it to No. 1. Serving as an inspiration to her fans, Swift made music history, breaking the record for the fastest song to reach number one in iTunes in only 45 short minutes, as well as the highest number of digital sales in week for a female artist, reaching a whopping 623,000 sales.
