Fiddler on the Roof first debuted on Broadway in 1964, and was an immediate sensation. During its run, Fiddler on the Roof had more than 3,000 performances, and was the recipient of multiple Tony Awards. Since its original run ended, the show has been the subject of four revivals, and was adapted to the big screen in the early 1970s, winning three Academy Awards in the process. Telling the poignant story of a Russian Jew and the struggles he faced raising his daughters in the early 1900s, Fiddler on the Roof has long been lauded as not only an excellent musical, but a moving story as well.
