Alan Jackson is a country music legend. His musical style, which blends honky tonk and mainstream country sounds, and his simplistic song-writing has resulted in more than 50 of his singles appearing on Billboard's Top 30 Country Songs, 25 of rising all the way to number one on the charts. Jackson was also nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the 1994 CMA's, won the 2002 Grammy for Best Country Song with Where Were you (When the World Stopped Turning). After performing a variety of odd-jobs in his 20's, Jackson's first official album, Here in the Real World, was released in 1989 at the age of 31. It garnered Jackson a whopping six nominations at the 1989 Country Music Awards. During the mid-90's Alan started to gain acclaim for his song-writing skills, penning songs for musicians such as Clay Walker, Chely Wright, and Faith Hill.
Staying true to his humble beginnings, Jackson said of his plethora of nominations:
"Everybody says it's nice to be nominated and it is. It's nice to be included – especially with as many years as I've been in the business. A lot of people's careers aren't lucky enough to last this long and I don't know why it keeps working, but it does. I'll just keep on doing it."
In 2001, Jackson was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, and 2010 he was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Make sure you see him live, get your Alan Jackson Tickets today!
